FROM BODY’S PERSPECTIVE
by ANTONIO MIRANDA

My body has its own wishes
independent of my consents.
Transgressing values and norms
of behaviour,
beyond its control.
A precarious body
wasted, useless.
A body that I contemplate out of me
to not let it dominate me.
The body — lucid, arbitrary.
In being body
I am termporal and finite.
Tomorrow, I will be another.
As a body I am, nor I am.
As a halo, as emanation
Open body, receptive body
and the mind that castrates
inhibits, delimits.
The body is fatuous and opulent.
hates inertia,
or disuse, or neglect.
While being a body of everyone,
but less of myself.
